i should have taken more photos! we met up with my first college roommate, alicia, and her hubby tom this past weekend for breakfast in berkeley. they are three months away from having a baby! mahala and noble picked out some of their 'old' toys to pass onto the new little one!

beetle races

tyler's mom, millie, was brilliant enough to bring in darkling beetles for "beetle races" this past week. noble got to join the first graders for this fun little activity. kids were in teams of three or four and had their beetle on a paper track to see who could go the most centimeters.

goodbye grandma georgia

the always entertaining and loving grandma georgia has passed away after a life of almost 90 years. we'll miss you.

stunning portraits! one of the family by mahala and a one of douglas and i by noble. i love how mahala made me the largest of the family and how noble accentuates our legs :)

mommies day

breakfast in bed with the help of douglas and lunch at a new indian place followed by a little gardening made for a nice day. noble was quick to forget that he was supposed to be on his best behavior, but it was still a great day.

douglas's 44th birthday!

douglas (and david) returned from a visit to grandma georgia on his birthday. the kids missed him so much after the three day trip. it gave us time to make the banner and some chocolate covered bananas bites to celebrate!

project runway

mahala was thrilled to find douglas's old clothes up in her art house. "can we do ANYTHING we want with it?" she asked. they proceeded to make these awesome outfits. noble's is from a shirt and mahala's is from pants. i'd say they rival anything on the tv show 'project runway'. this photo was taken when they were supposed to be putting on their pajamas!
