2nd place in the league!

noble had a great time playing soccer this season. with a hard fought game against some of his closest buddies, sunshine bicycles lost in the finals. but second place still gave them trophies and losing against friends was no big deal to any of them!

a good day

all day in his robe, harry potter and pomegranite seeds - all noble needs for a good day off from school on veterans day.

4th graders in Sacramento

noble's 4th grade trip to sacramento included stops at the indian museum, sutter's fort and the capital building. we rode the train from richmond and walked many many miles all over the city! the kids had a great talk with Marc Levine's chief of staff and got to go on the senate floor!

halloween 2016

i always swear it's my last year to make costumes. we never have enough time and the kids are so wiggly when we are sizing everything....but somehow we all manage to pull it together. it's especially nice that it's dark during trick or treating so all of the flaws are not recognized :) this was the first year the kids were trick or treating separately so we took the photo the night before.

stinson beach cross country meet

the second and last meet of the year at stinson beach. we were playing at the ebach for longer than the actual meet! noble got 15th place - the last one for a medal.

suzuki violin play-in

poaching protest march

ms. honda rallied the kids (and parents) for a protest march against poaching of elephants and rhinos for their tusks and horns. we spent a few days making a huge elephant head and mahala spent some time making pinwheels for the event. it was a warm day in san francisco and the march began and ended in union square. the kids were invited on stage for few minutes to sing a couple of songs they practiced at school. the march took place on the same day in over 100 cities around the world!

noble's birthday party

we celebrated noble's birthday a little late this year - but it worked out well to have it during the school year so all of his buddies could come! the usual hang-out-at-home-and-have-ice-cream- sundaes was in order.

bon tempe lake hike

olympic valley for august 12!

we decided to go to olympic valley near lake tahoe for our anniversary/noble bday trip. we stayed at the same resort and pretty much did the same things we did last year which the kids loved - swimming in the hotel pool, taking the tram up to another pool, playing cornhole and board games and eating lots of junk food! the worst part for the kids was the horrible sunburn and just overall exhaustion...

la jolla

the peter-franks sought out some culture and headed to la jolla to check out the contemporary museum of art. very fun but very small. still, good time were had by all especially when we followed it up with some beach time and ice cream!

point loma

we took a little day trip to point loma to check out the tide pools and meet up with the milsteads who were also visiting family. windy but beautiful views!

we spent  the holiday weekend with grandma and papa. we took a little swim break at the community pool.

marin county fair

we checked out the marin fair and stayed mostly for kool and the gang and the fireworks. the kids loved checking out the animals still :)

book one graduation!!!

mahala graduated suzuki violin book one in the backyard of charmian's house. what an achievement!

last day of school

last day of school and noble was wiped out! mahala was tired too but she managed to make a yummy dinner of braised tofu and snow peas and sticky rice to eat while we watched the warriors game.

5th-8th grade girls were invited to the sf google office to learn about coding. we took the ferry and of course google was a perfect host with lots of food and fancy digs.
