bye bye stevie wonder

we were all sad to say goodbye to stevie wonder...hopefully he finds a new home (without kids to nip) down in LA where his original owner took him this past friday.

tennis lesson

mahala will be going to drop-in tennis lessons every saturday. she had shown some interest and these lessons, the quickstart method, are given only a few minutes away at a really spectacular tennis club. we'll see how it goes. so far she likes it...and there happened to be another 2nd grade girl there that was also a beginner so it was a good 'match'!

mahala's music class

at the end of the each trimester, the music teacher invites parents in to see what the kids have been working on. it was so impressive! they have been working on songs and dances from many different cultures (asian and african represented here). douglas and i were very proud and noble was completely enthralled and kept reminding me that i need to be videotaping it!

egg hunt with the franks

it was a beautiful sunny day to enjoy an easter egg hunt and lunch with the franks at our house. the kids wore protective gear on their heads because egg hunting is dangerous in these parts :)

holi 2012

holi time at stanford! this was our second time and it was a blast. not without its we-had-too-much-fun meltdowns, but really worth going to.

egg decorating

lots of new techniques this year (douglas still wonders why i don;t follow tradition and just buy paas). we did mostly white eggs and experimented with grated crayon, colander dying and rubber cement dying...as well as regular dying which i think works best with vivid colors on the brown eggs! kids were so happy to do 48 eggs this year...and so was i!

play date for noble

noble was very excited to have his second official play date - this time with zara, another pre-k kid.
