and this is what happens when the kids dress themselves. SO unlike her mom, mahala is such a movie star-and a dead serious one at that. noble on the other hand, prefers to ham it up cowboy style.

this is supposed to be the time when everyone sits quietly and eats their dinner right?

noble has an otter now!

deja vu? well, you know that mahala has had her otter now for 2 1/2 years and got it during her first trip to the monterrey bay aquarium. although we wanted to get noble a different sea creature during his first visit, mahala insisted that we get him an otter (one that has a baby since noble is 'her baby'). funny thing is, i put it in noble's crib and somehow it ends up in mahala's bed all the time. we thought her intentions were sweet, but now we are wondering...

on noble's birthday we were in monterrey with ammamma and appappan. here is the beautiful coastline on 17-mile drive.


and although the aquarium was spectacular, it did not compare to what we found out along the bay. here is a sea otter floating by!

and along one of the piers, many, many seals and sea lions. we could have reached out to pet them, but they were best left alone.

happy birthday noble!

noble turned one on august 12. with ammamma and appappan in town along with aunt seena, uncle eric and cousin quinn, AND all the usual bay area family on the frank side, it was quite a week. we had a party at a park by the bay and he was very happy about having his cupcake with whipped cream!
