christmas with the franks

this past weekend, we had all fo the franks over to celebrate christmas with lunch, presents, gingerbread house decorating and lots of sweets. mahala worked on her house long after the party was over!

getting a tree (in the rain)

it seems to be that the first bad rain of the season happens wheneve we want to get our tree....but of course, that just made it more fun for the kids!

all dressed up

these are photos taken by george and eddie's wedding photographer back in august, and they were kind enough to give us copies. douglas calls noble the little ambassador in his photograph and loves mahala's moppy hairdo in her photograph! they were taken at the city hall in san francisco which was absolutely stunning inside.

one more gift

and one more gift on behalf of ammamma and appappan! this is a "paint your own rainboot set"... mahala actually sat quietly for a long time doing this. the best part about these boots is that when she gets tired of the design, she can use a magic eraser to get rid of the design and then paint on a new waterproof design. thank you!

the finale of mahala's "birthday month"

and finally, with her fourth celebration, mahala's birthday month is complete! here she is in santa rosa with her bike-riding cousins, kayla and david. mahala is on her new bike from granma and papa! she loves it and looks forward to riding it on the "long straight sidewalks" in berkeley which seem to be less nerve wracking for her. we also had some cake (of course) and everybody sang so well!
