happy birthday dada!

on may 4th, douglas had off, so we headed to tilden for a nature walk (and of course had to stop by the farm to see some animals) and then picnicked by a pond. we also made some homemade strawberry frozen yogurt and showered dada with many gifts-handmade ones even.

noble's first girlfriend

although fond of all of his friends, noble is especially keen on this little girl: lola. and apparently she feels the same way. they talk about eachother all of the time. noble calls her on his pretend cell phone. aaaah, young love.

mahala's drawing after visiting san quentin!!

we went to visit daddy at san quentin last week and mahala just did this drawing today. we showed her the outside of the buildings with the rooms where the inmates stay and we saw some inmates-the ones "in blue" outfits. here is her story:

"there are some stars in the sky and the stars in the sky are above the jail. in the black spot in the jail is where the people who own the jail are. and the cars that are on there...the one with the three is us....mommy, noble and mahala on the road. and daddy is the one with one that is in front of us. that is the van and we are in the honda. all of them are in the little rooms...the people in blue."

she's got rhythm

leela and priya joined mahala for dance this week. they have been practicing mostly with rhythm based on the teacher's clapping. mahala has been getting really into it although when asked, she will not show you what she learned. pretty cute with all three girls stomping around though!

cal day

today we went to cal day at the campus with leela and emeline and their dads. we went to some dance performances and then saw some animals which were part of the zoology department. noble was especially excited when he saw the corn snake! mahala was pretty taken by everything. she was literally on the edge of her seat during the dance performances.

ready for easter!

no easter hats for this bunch-but we look better than usual! doesn't mahala have her daddy's smile? and best of all, everyone did well during the picture-no squirming, no whining!

never trust a doctor with that many tatoos!

easter bunny brought the kids a doctor kit and they seem to making good use out of it. mahala's bedside manner is questionable but noble is being a good sport!
