mahala's first day at kindergarten

mahala started at manor school today for her first day at kindergarten. it's teh local fairfax school and is just a couple of miles away from where we live at the moment. she is in room 2 with ms. williams who seems so wonderful! the entrance to the kindergarten is right next to HUGE sunflowers as you can see in the photo. she seemed a little nervous when she saw so many new faces but she seems to have done really well. we're so proud of our little school girl! noble was really upset to see her go though :(

samuel p. taylor park

douglas had the day off so we went on a long awaited hike through the redwoods in samuel p. taylor park, which is about 20 minutes from our place. it was cool in the redwoods but the trail lead through some oaks where it got sunny and hot. there was a beautiful creek that we stopped at to have a snack and throw rocks so in a way the long walk was worth it. and you'll see the photo of mahala and noble admiring maybe the most yellow/orange mushroom we've ever seen!

grandma and papa come to visit fairfax

a great tradition-two dollars for two years. grandma and papa came by to wish "momo" a happy birthday. we had fun hanging out, eating lunch and having ice cream to celebrate and to cool down. thank you to them for the tool set, pajamas and book too!

noble's birthday by the bay

a beautiful day by the bay for noble's second birthday! it was nice to be back in berkeley so thatw e could celebrate with so many of noble's friends (and ours). lola, sybille, morgan, sophia, aiden, sofia, nikolas, simon and sadie and their parents joined us for a sunny day at shorebird park.

it turns out that "chloe", our real estate agent's dog, not only remembered noble's birthday and our anniversary, but remembered that big sisters need love too :) thank you to chloe (and her wonderful owners of course) !!

thank you ammamma and appappan!

noble (and mahala) are having a lot of fun with the tools already! fortunately there are enough for both of them. we're glad that ammamma and appappan could watch on skype!

mahala's preschool graduation

mahala has officially graduated from preschool! last night was the big party at her school. it was a great event with the three different classes at CEID. here is a photo of her with three of her favorite buddies (kai, leela and tai), a video of a teachers' performance, and a video of mahala up "on stage". we are very proud of her!
