noble's high style

this is very typical of noble....crazy ensembles, lately punctuated with his giraffe boots. see that black thing in his right boot? it's a comb-in case of a hair emergency i suppose!

thai tooth fairy

mahala lost her first tooth on february 3, 2010! it was very loose and we could see the new tooth coming in already. she knocked it with her fist (!) and then daddy assisted by pulling it out. not even a whimper from her. she has never smiled so big! since we were in thailand, the tooth fairy was gracious enough to leave some thai baht under her pillow--120 baht! that's about 4 dollars. lucky girl got to go shopping with the cash. she appropriately bought herself a handheld mirror so she could admire her new smile! she also bought a rubics cube.

our last day

our last day was at wat po temple and the grand palace of the king. the first place was the temple and then we took a tuk-tuk to the grand palace. which was only a few minutes away. the palace was filled with tourists....and i thought it was amusing that many japanee tourists wanted pictures of our kids-some of them even sat down next to our kids to take photos with them. mahala and noble were not crazy about that idea at all!

little musicians

on the last evening of our stay, our wonderful jenny arranged for her extremely talented neighbors to come over a "serenade" us with traditional thai music. it was amazing. the girl is 7 and the boy is 4.

traditional thai dances

we all enjoyed the rose garden's cultural show outside of bangkok. within an hour, they showed several traditional forms of dance, a marriage ceremony, thai boxing and so many other arts. the kids were thoroughly entertained! two traditional thai dances, the fingernail dance and the stick dance, are shown in the videos.
