camporee
this weekend, mother's day weekend, was the girl scout camporee! our first time going to this once-a-year event just outside fairfax. a beautiful complex of buildings, cabins, dining hall, fire pits, a grassy lawns. mahala and i went and joined her fellow scouts, mage, natalia and audrey, their moms britton and jeanette, and other girls around the marin area. they earned their cooking badge, first aid badge and girl scout way badge along with a camporee patch. her vest will be highly decorated now! we had a great time and the girls did lots of giggling and had a great time too. we had communal meals and smores by the campfire and to top it off, each group sang a song up on stage - check out the video!

reji uncle's visit
reji uncle came to visit for two nights and i took him for a whirlwind tour of things he did get to see on his organized tour...driving over the golden gate bridge, driving down lombard, eating crab at fisherman's wharf, going to alcatraz, going to muir woods, going to berkeley, eating burritos..and here eating ethiopian food! we also took him around our home and fairfax including the farmer's market.
tourist for a day
i got to be a tourist while taking my uncle around san francisco, to muir woods and berkeley. enjoyable to be exploring the area!
noble he is!
noble chose this noble outfit for spring picture day at his preschool. he is so much fancier than any of the other peter-franks!
cal day 2012
always look forward to spending the day in berkeley on cal day! we checked out the spirit rally, got to meet some slithering friends, saw a dance performance and watch a cal football practice. eme and brady joined us too before coming up to fairfax for a sleepover!

bye bye stevie wonder
tennis lesson
mahala will be going to drop-in tennis lessons every saturday. she had shown some interest and these lessons, the quickstart method, are given only a few minutes away at a really spectacular tennis club. we'll see how it goes. so far she likes it...and there happened to be another 2nd grade girl there that was also a beginner so it was a good 'match'!
