holi!!!!

these are photos from the holi festival down at stanford. it is the festival of colors to celebrate spring. colored powder is thrown by everyone on everyone. the kids loved it - where else can they get THIS messy! as you can see in the video, there were tons of people!

"color vedable"

noble is certainly excited to go to the color festival this weekend! in the video he says we are going to "the color vedable becuck people throwing color at the vedable." (we are going to the color festival because people throwing color at the festival) and then he is also excited about the "bay quaquarium" (the monterey bay aquarium)

mahala's latest thing: braids and ponytails and the occasional fancy outfit from thailand. noble's latest thing: pink tights that mahala handed down to him and his yellow hat from thailand (that jenny's mom made!)

mahala's first day of soccer

mahala has been wanting to play soccer for about a year now and we finally signed her up. one of her friends from school is in the class too which has made the adjustment super easy. so far she seems really excited about it - glad that it wasn't all talk because it is quite a commitment -10 classes! she''s wearing david's old cleats and today we bought her the shin guards that they highly recommend. the first two classes have been just moving the ball around with their feet. next week will be the first "real soccer" game. should be funny!

weekend fun

we spent a little time in the city and on the bay this weekend as well as some quality art time at home!

yuba gap sno-park

mahala and noble saw snow for the first time today! we went to the yuba gap sno-park for a day trip....a bit ambitious considering it was almost a three-hour drive. no fresh snow and it was 50 degrees out, so no snow angels or snowmen, but sledding was a blast!
